I\u2019m having a lot of fun with this series and I hope you learn some tips and tricks along the way. Here are the lunches and dinners we ate during the week of February 01-07. Enjoy!\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">GROCERY SHOPPING = $399.85<\/h6>\n<p>I know. I know. I know. That\u2019s an insane total in one week for a family our size. But here\u2019s how it happened. My Monday morning Trader Joe\u2019s run was $130.85. My husband and daughter went out for pancake ingredients (for her) and whiskey (for him), somehow that added up to $53.81. I wanted to stock up on bread, V8 (a staple for our toddlers breakfast), and somehow that added up to $77.14. My mom came into town for her birthday weekend, we went to Costco to pick up her favorite lamb chops, brussel sprouts, and potatoes for a birthday dinner. Ended up leaving with way more but now have vegetables for next week, so \u2014 $138.05.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">TAKEOUT = $36.38<\/h6>\n<p>My mom and I took the kids to the Play Street Museum, I popped into the cafe next door to grab two lattes and two cranberry muffins, with tip came to $19.47. On the morning of my moms birthday, I picked up half a dozen kolache\u2019s from our favorite spot, $16.91. PS. If you\u2019ve never had a kolache, you\u2019re missing out. Other than that, we ate all our meals at home.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h6>Monday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>Sandwich day! Deli sliced turkey breasts on Kings Hawaiian rolls, with mustard, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, chips, pickles, and the works.<\/p>\n<h6>Monday Dinner<\/h6>\n<p>Oven roasted salmon with fresh basmati rice and a simple green salad consisting of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, and pickled shallots with a homemade balsamic dressing.<\/p>\n<h6>Tuesday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>My husband and I each had chicken noodle soup, the batch that was prepared and frozen from last week. I let it thaw on in the fridge Sunday afternoon, so it was microwave ready for today\u2019s lunch.<\/p>\n<h6>Tuesday Dinner<\/h6>\n<p>First Tuesday of the month is our Taco Tuesday. I know, I know. So f*cking cliche and boring it deserves all the eye rolls. Both kids love it and it\u2019s a fun change of pace, so win-win?<\/p>\n<h6>Wednesday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>Finished off the last of the chicken noodle soup and a few sandwiches. My dad nicknamed me \u2018Panera Mom\u2019 as our kitchen really does feel like a trip to Panera for a U-Pick-2.<\/p>\n<h6>Wednesday Dinner<\/h6>\n<p>Tonight was a Chicken &amp; Thangs night. I purchased three pounds of chicken on Monday, so I cooked the entire thing in one go, saving a portion for Friday night and Sunday night. I paired it with a lemon-honey-shallot pan sauce, oven roasted broccoli, and mac and cheese.<\/p>\n<h6>Thursday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>I loved todays lunch. Using rice from Monday, I made taco rice bowls with Tuesdays taco night leftovers. They were perfect. We took the kids to the Play Street Museum for a morning activity and ate lunch at First Watch afterwards. The baby and I split breakfast tacos, my mom had a sandwich and soup, the toddler had chocolate chip pancakes. My mom paid for us.<\/p>\n<h6>Friday Dinner<\/h6>\n<p>Using chicken breasts that were prepared on Wednesday, I whipped up a piccata pan sauce, brown rice, and oven roasted green beans for our Shabbat dinner.<\/p>\n<h6>Saturday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>Our morning adventure was the Magic House. We decided to come home for lunch and polish off some leftovers. My mom ate last nights leftovers, my husband had bolognese, and I ate two turkey sandwiches. Paired with roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts.<\/p>\n<h6>Sunday Lunch<\/h6>\n<p>While at Costco yesterday, we picked up a \u2018chicken taco kit\u2019 for today\u2019s lunch. I was really pumped about it.<\/p>\n<h6>Sunday Dinner<\/h6>\n<p>Chicken breasts that were prepped from Wednesday, and yesterdays leftover brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Overall, a pretty successful week.
